Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp: What I think of Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney
LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp has insisted Wayne Rooney is a world class player.
Wayne Rooney has been on the bench for United's last three games
Rooney will travel with United to Anfield to take on Klopp's Reds on Monday night (8pm).
After a run of poor form Rooney has been named on the bench by Jose Mourinho for United’s last three games - against Leicester, Zorya and Stoke.
The striker was even axed by England boss Gareth Southgate for the goalless draw with Slovenia in midweek.
But Klopp insists Rooney is still a world class player.
Klopp said: "I am manager of Liverpool FC so I know it is not allowed to like United players!
"Rooney is a goal scorer and a threat. A situation like this can happen in a long career.
"From my side he's a world class player."
