The striker, on loan at Bristol City, scored twice on his full England Under-21s debut against Bosnia this week to send another message to the Chelsea hierarchy.
Abraham is the Championship's top scorer after joining the Robins on a season-long loan and has 13 goals in 15 games for club and country this term.
While Rashford, who has 12 goals for Manchester United since making his debut in February, made England's Euro 2016 squad and has earned five senior caps, scoring once.
"He is a good example for all the youngsters really. He is just a great player and he is getting a chance and he's performing," Abraham said.
"Every time you get that chance out on the pitch you just have to give your all and hopefully the chances will keep coming.

"I've played against him. I played against him two weeks before his debut and it was phenomenal. We knew he was a danger for his team.
"This was at the under-18 level and in the Youth Cup and a few weeks later he went out and won the actual FA Cup so that was a dream for him and I'm happy for him.
"There are talented youngsters out there that just need to get given the chance."
