Chelsea weighing swoop for defender: Man Utd to pocket money from potential deal
MANCHESTER UNITED could pocket a sizeable chunk of any deal should Michael Keane leave Burnley, according to reports.
Michael Keane is on Chelsea's radar
The 23-year-old was the subject of interest from Leicester during the summer, although they saw an £11m offer turned.
Recent claims suggest Chelsea are lining up a £25m bid for Keane, as they see him as a potential long-term successor to John Terry.
Antonio Conte is keen to overhaul his defence and is believed to have held meetings with Roman Abramovich to discuss prospective January targets.
It is also thought Burnley are keen to fend off interest from other clubs for Keane.
But according to the Daily Mail, United have an agreement with the Clarets that entitles them to 20 pert cent of any transfer fee should Keane leave Turf Moor.
Previous reports suggested United didn't have a clause in Keane's contract, but this doesn't appear to be the case.
Jose Mourinho - 5 things you need to know
Keane, who came through United’s academy, left the Red Devils and joined Burnley two years ago.
The centre-half is into the final 18 months of his contract.
And it seems Burnley wouldn't want to see him wind his contract down.
