Theo Walcott: I want to bring my Arsenal form to England and get the fans back onside
THEO WALCOTT wants to ride the wave of his form.
Theo Walcott wants to continue his form for England
The Arsenal ace will start for England on Saturday against Malta in the second World Cup qualifier.
England beat Slovakia under Sam Allardyce and get the Gareth Southgate tenure underway on Saturday.
Walcott has scored three goals in seven games for the Gunners and hopes he can fire England past the minnows.
Walcott was left out of the Euro 2016 squad, with Gary Neville today admitting players were not picked on form, but has won his place back and hopes to keep flying.
"I don't want this time to stop,” Walcott said.
“I have been working hard and I want to be better than the opposition. It is stuff people won't see, but deep down you know you are ready for the match having trained well during the week.
"I want this form to continue and you have the support of the team-mates too.
“It is a completely new bunch of players but we want to put the disappointment of the Euros right, there is no reason why we cannot do better. It is great that comes from the manager.
"When we have the freedom to express ourselves, that bodes well for the future."
Walcott says he's ready to keep his form going
And the winger hopes to excite the sell-out crowd on Saturday night.
He added: "If you see something on the pitch which is not working, you need to stand up and change it.
"Having that much support at Wembley shows how much faith people have behind us. We want to make people enjoy English football again and the Premier League is the best league in the world.
"We want everyone to stand up and be involved in the game. When the fans are involved, that extra percentage helps."
