Liverpool favourites to sign Steven Gerrard: Celtic emerge as possible suitors
LIVERPOOL have emerged as the bookmakers' favourites to re-sign Steve Gerrard after the Anfield legend revealed he is considering a move back to England.
Steven Gerrard's LA Galaxy contract expires in the New Year
Gerrard enjoyed a successful career at boyhood club Liverpool before switching to LA Galaxy in 2015.
He signed an 18-month contract with the MLS side worth £6million.
That deal will expire in the New Year and Gerrard told The Daily Mirror he could seek a return to the UK.
“I’m wondering whether I should play on for a little bit longer or whether I should call it a day. I haven’t 100 per cent decided on that yet," he said.
Gerrard has been linked with a move back to Liverpool before and trained with the squad last winter during the MLS off-season.
Bookmakers Betway have him at evens to rejoin the Anfield club once his contract expires.
Gerrard could be a suitable addition to manager Jurgen Klopp's side, who have got off to a strong start in the Premier League this season.
The former England captain would add to Liverpool's squad quota, which stipulates eight players in each 25-man Premier League squad must be home-grown.
Celtic (4/1) have also emerged as a potential destination for Gerrard.

The midfielder had a good relationship with Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers when the pair were at Anfield.
Rodgers has guided Celtic to the top of the Scottish Premiership this season and they may be able to offer Gerrard knock-out Champions League football if they progress through this autumn's group stage.
However, Gerrard is also 3/1 to remain in Los Angeles and 13/2 to move to another MLS franchise.
