Slaven Bilic's odds slashed to be next manager sacked
The Croatian has endured a disastrous start to the season, with West Ham sitting in the relegation zone after losing five of their opening six Premier League games.
The Hammers also failed to qualify for the Europa League group stages after losing to Romanian minnows Astra Giurgiu in the play-offs last month.
West Ham co-owner David Sullivan revealed in March that the club would offer Bilic a bumper new contract in January if he carried over last season's form - which saw them achieve a seventh-place finish.
But now bookmakers BetStars have slashed Bilic's odds from 7/1 to 11/4 to be the first manager to leave his post in England's top flight.
Swansea chief Francesco Guidolin remains the favourite for the chop at odds of 5/4 as the Swans sit one place outside the drop zone - one point more than West Ham.
“After watching his West Ham side slump to a fourth straight league defeat against Southampton at the weekend, we’ve slashed Slaven Bilic’s odds from 7/1 to 11/4 to be the first Premier League manager to leave his post, as the club’s owners grow increasingly frustrated,” said BetStars spokesman.
“Whilst under-pressure Swansea manager Guidolin remains favourite to be first for the chop at 5/4, if Bilic can’t halt West Ham’s disastrous dip in form with a result against Middlesbrough next weekend then expect pressure to intensify.”
