The Blues were linked with a move for the 24-year-old defender in the summer as manager Antonio Conte desperately looked for reinforcements at the back.
He eventually settled for David Luiz, who rejoined the club in a £32million deal from Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain.
Lazio have slapped a £50m price tag on Chelsea target Stefan de Vrij
But it is claimed Conte is still keen on bringing De Vrij to Stamford Bridge as he looks to further bolster his defensive ranks in the winter window.
However, the Sunday People claim Lazio have now slapped a £50m price tag on De Vrij as they look to deter interest from Chelsea.
This was the figure Napoli demanded for the Blues' No 1 defender target Kalidou Koulibaly, who recently signed a new five-year deal with the Serie A side.
It is said De Vrij is also close to extending his contract until 2020, with his wages being bumped up from £25,000 to £35,000-a-week.
The 24-year-old is in his third season with Lazio after signing in a £6m deal from Feyenoord in 2014.
