Louis van Gaal set to return to management four months after Manchester United sacking
LOUIS VAN GAAL is reportedly closing in on a return to management, four months after leaving Manchester United.
The Dutchman was sacked at Old Trafford in May with a year left on his contract, despite leading United to FA Cup glory in his last game in charge.
A fifth-place finish in the Premier League wasn’t good enough for the United hierarchy and Van Gaal was quickly replaced with Jose Mourinho.
The 65-year-old now appears to be set for a new job, with reports in Germany claiming he’ll take charge at struggling Werder Bremen.
The Bundesliga outfit are currently bottom of the table after losing all four of their opening games of the season, which led to the sacking of Viktor Skrypnyk earlier this week.
Louis van Gaal set for Werder Bremen job
German newspaper Hamburger Abendblatt claim Van Gaal will step in for the remainder of the season to help keep Werder in Germany’s top flight.
Van Gaal spent two seasons in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich, winning the league title, the German Super Cup and German Cup in 2010.
