Sold Liverpool striker: I’m not angry over exit
CHRISTIAN BENTEKE insists he doesn’t regret his nightmare year at Liverpool.
Christian Benteke joined Crystal Palace this summer after just one year at Liverpool
The striker joined the Reds from Aston Villa last summer in a £32.5million deal.
But he lasted just 12 months on Merseyside before before being sold to Crystal Palace for a similar fee.
Benteke scored 10 goals for Liverpool last season but was told by manager Jurgen Klopp that he wasn’t part of the German’s plans for this term.
And the Belgium international, who opened his Palace account with a goal in the 2-1 win at Middlesbrough last weekend, says his experience at Liverpool was a learning curve.
"It was an honour to play for Liverpool, such a big club with such a big history," Benteke told Sky Sports.
Pardew praises Palace board for 'brave' move to sign Benteke
"I didn't play or perform as I wanted.
“It was my decision to go there and I don't regret anything.
"I didn't have the chances to perform. I learned that's football.
“That is why I have no anger against anyone there."
