The Red Devils have looked at ways of improving their scouting network to help Jose Mourinho in his bid to unearth new stars.
Earlier this month, the club continued to overhaul their youth academy when they brought in West Brom scout Steve Hopcroft.
And their latest acquisition - Beukenkamp - who has been working with PSV for the past year could be the ideal appointment.
Dutch paper Voetbal International claim the talent spotter will be based in his homeland for the new role.
It is thought United have recruited Beukenkamp with the view to giving him a greater input on the kind of players coming to the club.
“I was very comfortable in my work with PSV,” he told the paper.
