Crystal Palace face £85,000 struggle over striker
CRYSTAL PALACE have signed Christian Benteke’s brother, Jonathan, on a one-year deal - but face a compensation battle with his former club in Belgium.
Palace may have to pay £85,000 in compensation for Benteke
The Eagles last month landed Liverpool striker Benteke, 25, in a club-record £32million deal.
And manager Alan Pardew has wasted little time bringing the frontman’s younger brother to Selhurst Park.
According to the Daily Mail, 21-year-old Jonathan Benteke has joined up with the club’s development squad.
The Belgian, who also plays up front, was released by Pro League side Zulte Waregem this summer.
It is claimed Palace face a compensation package of £85,000 for the player, even though Benteke and Waregem mutually agreed to part.
Benteke made 15 appearances for Waregem last season, although all but one of those were from the bench.

And Waregem have not missed their forward this campaign. They sit second in the Belgian top flight after winning three of their first five games.
As for elder brother Christian, the frontman is yet to score for Palace in two appearances since leaving Liverpool this summer.
