Celtic's Jozo Simunovic: This is the real reason my Torino move collapsed
JOZO SIMUNOVIC insists he is fully fit and focused on doing well for Celtic following his failed move to Torino.
Jozo Simunovic explains Celtic stay
The Croatian defender travelled to Italy for a medical after an agreement appeared to have been reached between the two clubs, but the transfer collapsed late on deadline day.
Reports suggested that the Serie A club had reservations following the medical checks but Simunovic stressed that his results were 'perfect'.
The 22-year-old has not played since January after suffering a knee injury but he has recently resumed training and is ready to fight for his first-team place.
He posted on Twitter: "A lot has been said in the last few days. I prefer to talk only on the field, but this time I want to say something to the Celtic fans who have always supported me and as a player it mean lot to me.
"Behind me is 'turbulent' period, starting from injury until transfer to Turin. I just want to say that it is not true that I have not passed medical in Turin.
To all @celticfc fans.I am contacting you in this way because I can not express myself in 140 characters. pic.twitter.com/yjVecYDEdQ

"Everything was perfect, I am completely healthy and fit! Transfer was not realized because the Torino at the last minute wanted to change the initial agreement with Celtic.
"And most important of all, my head is in Celtic and I am 100 per cent focused on the field and the challenges ahead.
"I am fit, I train with the team, and of course the coach decides when I will start to play. And when I start, I can promise one thing. I'm going to give more than maximum, for Celtic!"
