McLeish's warning to Birmingham players
NOTTM FORREST 1 BIRMINGHAM 1
ALEX McLEISH emerged from a fierce dressing-room inquest to warn Birmingham they must improve quickly or risk wrecking their dream of an immediate return to the Premier League.
His players tore into each other after another performance that raised question marks over their billing as title favourites,
and left them six points behind leaders Wolves.
James McFadden’s opener gave the visitors a deserved lead but James Perch levelled and Forest would have won but for Maik Taylor’s outstanding second-half display.
McLeish said: “We wouldn’t get promoted with that type of performance. The players came in and had a go at each other and I was glad to hear that.”
Forest midfielder Chris Cohen said: “I don’t believe a team has ever got relegated playing as well as we have for a consistent period.”
