SHANE DUFFY has turned down a new contract at Blackburn with Brighton ready to step up their interest in him.
Shane Duffy is attracting interest from a host of Championship clubs
The defender – who has one year remaining on his current deal - has also been targeted by Fulham and Wolves with Blackburn having so far received a bid of £4m.
Blackburn are seeking an increase on that for Republic of Ireland international Duffy, who has endured a turbulent start to the season.
Hanley joined Newcastle for £5.5m last month.
Brighton are among the favourites for promotion to the Premier League and manager Chris Hughton will look to push through a deal.
