Pogba called to Juventus training
Paul Pogba is expected to return to Juventus training on Monday, manager Max Allegri has confirmed.
Manchester United have agreed a £110million deal for France international Pogba but reports in Italy claim the move has stalled.
Newspaper Tuttosport claim Allegri will not let the player leave until he has signed a replacement midfielder.
According to the report, Allegri will either sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Blaise Matuidi as a direct replacement or move Miralem Pjanic into central midfield and bid for Zenit St Petersburg’s Axel Witsel.
And Mourinho, 53, was left to rue the failed move.
"I arrived late,” Mourinho told Portuguese channel Sport TV.
“I signed in May, we started talking a week before, but completely out of the process.
“If I had arrived earlier, I’d fight for him.
“Manchester United watched Renato many times and maybe I did it even more.
“In so much time at home, I watched many Benfica and Portuguese league games, I got to know the boy better with time.
“He’s in a a big club, in a league where he’ll certainly be the champion. The club have players of very high level which belong to the structure, a little like Benfica.”
Manchester City sign Moreno
Meanwhile, Manchester City have signed United target Marlos Moreno.
Express Sport understands the Red Devils were keen on landing Colombia forward Moreno this summer.
The 19-year-old recently earned his first full international cap for Colombia and has signed a five-year contract at City.
He will now be loaned out to La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna for the season.
“City are one of the best clubs in the world. It will be nice to experience being part of such a big club. I want to make the most of it,” Moreno told mancity.com.
“Pep Guardiola is one of the best managers in the world. I think he likes young players very much and he can improve young players tactically and technically.
“It will be great to work with him and to be part of a great team.”
