Arsenal new boy delivers his verdict after winning debut
ARSENAL defender Rob Holding admits he was nervous ahead of his debut against the MLS All-Stars.
Rob Holding impressed for Arsenal
The recent signing from Bolton played the full 90 minutes as the Gunners earned a 2-1 win over the MLS' finest.
It marked a whirlwind few weeks for the 20-year-old but the centre-back was delighted with the experience.
He said: "I was a bit nervous coming into it. I was bound to be, but once I was on the pitch and warming up the jitters go and you are OK then.
"Your stomach settles and you feel good.
"I think I did all right. It would have topped it off had my header gone in from that corner.
"That would have been a bit of a glory moment, but I'll keep working on it and it will come hopefully."
Manager Arsene Wenger expressed his happiness about Holding's performance, praising his adaptability.
He said: "He has adapted surprisingly in a very good way. He reads the game well and understands what's going on.
"He anticipates well and that's a quality, at such a young age, that you don't find a lot."
