Marcus Rashford receives unexpected gift from Man Utd legend David Beckham
MARCUS RASHFORD has been given some pre-season encouragement by Manchester United legend David Beckham.
Marcus Rashford received a signed shirt from David Beckham
Beckham has sent the striker a signed United shirt with a personal message of encouragement for the upcoming season - much to Rashford's delight.
"To Marcus, Good luck and continue working hard and playing with joy & passion. Love David Beckham 7," the message read.
The England striker took to Instagram to show off Beckham's gift, posting a photo of the signed shirt along with the message 'Nice to be appreciated by one of the best'.
Beckham's pick-me-up could be in light of Jose Mourinho's recent signings which look set to limit Rashford's opportunities in the United first-team.
Marcus Rashford - 5 things you need to know
The arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan means a place in attack for the Red Devils next term will come at a premium.
Besides the arrival of Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan, Rashford will also have to compete with Wayne Rooney, Memphis Depay and Anthony Martial.
And Mourinho's tendency to play with only one out-and-out striker could be further bad news for the 18-year-old England star.
Rashford made 11 Premier League appearances for United last term, scoring five goals, and also earned three caps for England.
