Transfer News: Arsenal backtrack on Sanchez, Leeds on verge of deal, Lozano talks Man Utd
EXPRESS SPORT brings you the latest transfer news from English football.
Lozano (top left), Sanchez (right) and Ekstrand could all be on the move this summer
Juventus have learned that Arsenal will not sell Alexis Sanchez despite matching their reported £34million valuation of the striker.
Juve reportedly had a £30m bid for Sanchez rejected and when asked how much Arsenal wanted for him were told to raise their price.
And president Guiseppe Marotta has told Chilean newspaper El Mercurio that he went back with an improved offer only to have it rejected.
Ekstrand is without a club after leaving Watford
Leeds are on the verge of signing former Watford defender Joel Ekstrand, according to reports in Sweden.
Ekstrand has not played a first-team game since injuring his knee in March 2015.
He was released by the Hornets this summer and is a free agent.
And Spanish outlet fotbollskanalen.se, owned by Swedish broadcaster TV4, claim a deal could be completed next week.
According to the report, Reading and Bristol City are also interested in the 27-year-old.
Hirving Lozano - 5 things you need to know
I don't know anything about United's interest
Hirving Lozano has denied he is close to joining Manchester United, despite previously talking up a move to the Premier League club.
Lozano, 20, is said to have caught the eye of United scouts and a bid being in the pipeline.
He even expressed a desire to play under manager Jose Mourinho in an interview earlier this week.
But in a fresh twist the Mexico international insists club side Pachuca have not had any contact with United over a proposed deal.
Lozano played for Mexico at the 2016 Copa America last month
"It's nice to hear people talk about a potential move to Manchester United, but it would have been better if it was actually a fact,' he told Mexican outlet record.com.mx.
"I don't know anything about United's interest. If the club tell me anything, then we will see, but I don't know anything about it at this stage.
"I am at Pachuca now and we will see what happens in the future."
