Ed Woodward has reortedlty held face-to-face talks with Juventus officials for Paul Pogba
United are understood to be keen on re-signing their former youth player Pogba, who quit the club for Juve in 2012.
The Serie A champions do not want to sell their star man but are realistic about their chances of keeping him, with Real Madrid also said to be keen.
It is said United boss Jose Mourinho, who was officially unveiled at Old Trafford yesterday, has requested the club accept Pogba's £250,000-a-week wage demands.
Pogba made 49 appearances for Juventus last season, scoring 10 goals and providing 16 assists.
