The 21-year-old, currently playing at J-League champions Sanfrecce Hiroshima, confirmed their interest after his country’s 4-1 win over South Africa in a Rio Olympics warm-up clash.
“I was a little stunned,” he told reporters on the Gunners' recent offer. “But I feel like I have the confidence to succeed wherever I go."
But he admits he might not walk straight into Arsene Wenger's first-team plans, adding: “If I am loaned elsewhere, my take on it is that I give it 100 per cent.”
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail claim Arsenal are considering offering Wenger an extended deal to prevent him becoming the next England manager in a year's time.
The FA recently admitted they'd be open to hiring an interim boss to wait until Wenger's Arsenal contract expired next summer following Roy Hodgson's departure earlier this week.
