Liverpool Transfer Setback: Jurgen Klopp move for midfield target rebuffed
LIVERPOOL face an uphill battle to sign Borussia Monchengladbach ace Mahmoud Dahoud.
Mahmoud Dahoud looks set to stay at Borussia Monchengladbach
The 20-year-old is understood to be one of Jurgen Klopp’s main transfer targets this summer after impressing in the Bundesliga.
He’s scored five goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances for Gladbach.
But following the sale of Granit Xhaka to Arsenal, Gladbach are not willing to sell another important player.
The Guardian say Liverpool are prepared to pay £25m (30m euros) for Dahoud but their offers will be rebuffed.
The report adds that Dahoud is ‘happy’ to stay at Gladbach and may even be offered a new deal.
Klopp has already strengthened other areas of his squad, with Sadio Mane the latest arrival this week.
