Southampton star Victor Wanyama speaks out on Tottenham move: It's a new dawn in my career
VICTOR WANYAMA is looking forward to a "new dawn" in his career at Tottenham as the Kenyan midfielder closes in on an £11million move from Southampton.
The midfielder, who will be 25 on Saturday, was signed from Celtic in July 2013, but had so far not taken up offers of a new contract and so would be free to leave St Mary's Stadium at the end of next season.
"I am indeed elated at passing my medicals at Tottenham. It is a new dawn in my career and I believe I will give my best for my new team," said Wanyama.
"I want to thank Southampton management and fans for the exceptional time we had together. I will always have a fond place for them in my heart."
Wanyama made 92 appearances for Southampton, scoring four goals.
