Jose Mourinho faces competition for Chelsea defender: PSG and Athletic Bilbao also keen
MANCHESTER UNITED reportedly face competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Athletic Bilbao for Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta.
Cesar Azpilicueta has been linked with a move away from Chelsea this summer
The 26-year-old full-back has three years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
But his future in west London is in doubt with new Blues boss Antonio Conte targeting a number of defensive options, including Stephan Lichtsteiner and Kwadwo Asamoah.
Jose Mourinho is reportedly eyeing a reunion with Azpilicueta at Old Trafford.
However the Daily Mirror claim United face competition from Athletic Bilbao and PSG for the Spain internationals signature.
Manchester United's Most Expensive Transfers
Azpilicueta has admitted he is aware of the speculation linking him with a move to United but has insisted he is happy at Stamford Bridge.
When asked if he had received a call from Mourinho, Azpilicueta told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser: “No. [You can] Believe me or not.” But he then added that he had 'heard something' regarding their interest.
“It’s always a compliment that you are wanted, but I’m focused on the national team and Chelsea, I’ve been there for four years, I am very happy and I feel highly valued.”
