Tottenham star 'baffled' by huge Manchester United decision
MOUSA DEMBELE has admitted he was left feeling 'baffled' by Louis van Gaal's recent sacking by Manchester United.
Mousa Dembele says he was 'baffled' by Louis van Gaal's sacking
Van Gaal was let go by the Red Devils this week after just two seasons in charge, despite winning the FA Cup and having one year left to run on his contract.
His sacking came after months of speculation and Jose Mourinho was announced as his immediate replacement, signing a three-year deal.
But Tottenham midfielder Dembele has jumped to the defence of Van Gaal, who he worked with at Dutch side AZ Alkmaar, calling his sacking 'baffling'.
“Louis van Gaal was the manager of a Premier League opponent, and he’s just been sacked, but I can’t say a bad word about him," he told Belgian newspaper Derniere Heure.

"He taught me a lot at AZ - his trainings, his style of play, his way of motivating us, he was a great.
For me, that’s baffling, but that’s football
"I guess he hasn’t changed. Nevertheless, he suffered a difficult season at Manchester United.
"For me, that’s baffling, but that’s football and if I’m the footballer I am today, it’s partly thanks to Van Gaal.”
