Huge contract revelation: Boss to sign new deal before Crystal Palace v Man United final
ALAN PARDEW will sign a new contract tying him to Crystal Palace until 2020 before Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester United.
Pardew's Crystal Palace went on a run of nine defeats in 11 league matches between January and March
The Palace manager, whose current £1.5 million a year deal runs out in 2018, is being rewarded for taking Palace to Wembley, and keeping them in the Premier League, with a two year extension worth another £500,000 a year, plus bonuses.
Pardew, 54, said today: “I think we are probably going to do it before the game.
But the former Palace player endured a gruelling second half of the season, when his side won only two league games from their last 21, finally ensuring safety when they beat Stoke 2-1 on May 7.
Former Reading, West Ham, Charlton, and Southampton manager Pardew joined Palace, with whom he reached the FA Cup final as a player in 1990, in January 2015 from Newcastle.
