SAUL NIGUEZ has extended his contract with Atletico Madrid until 2021.
Saul Niguez has signed a new deal with Atletico Madrid
Saul has been promoted to Atletico's first team this season, and has become a key component of Diego Simeone's side.
The 21-year-old has scored nine goals in 47 appearances for the Spanish club.
His impressive performances had seem him linked with a move away from Vicente Calderon.
Manchester United were thought to be keen on his signature after scouting him, while Tottenham were also interested in a summer move for the midfielder.
However he has now agreed a new deal which keeps him at the Vicente Calderon until 2021.

"I am very happy to continue to defend this shirt," Saul told the club's official website.
And Atletico sporting director Jose Luis Caminero added: “We are all very happy with the agreement reached with Saul.
"He is an excellent footballer, who has been trained in our academy and reinforces our commitment to the players in the club."
