Granit Xhaka move to Arsenal in doubt as Arsene Wenger dithers over transfer fee
ARSENAL'S hopes of signing Granit Xhaka are reportedly being held up by a £1.6million disparity.
Granit Xhaka could be on his way to Arsenal
The Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder appears to be on the brink of a move to the Emirates after personal terms were apparently agreed.
But according to German newspaper Bild, Monchengladbach are holding out for around £35.2m (45m euros) for the 23-year-old.
And Arsenal have so far offered just £33.6m (43m euros).
Arsene Wenger has been criticised in some quarters for failing to get deals done swiftly, with moves in the past for Luis Suarez, Gonzalo Higuain and Juan Mata collapsing when they appeared close.

But Xhaka has already prepared himself for his departure. After Gladbach's 2-0 win over Darmstadt on Saturday, he said: “It may be that it is my last game.
“The season’s over now and there might be discussions tomorrow regarding the matter, we will make it together."
