Manchester United must appoint this man and not Jose Mourinho, claims former England boss
MANCHESTER UNITED appointing Jose Mourinho would only be a short-term fix, according to Glenn Hoddle.
Hoddle believes Ronald Koeman, and not Jose Mourinho, is the long-term fix at United
Express Sport understands Mourinho is confident he will be asked to take over from Louis van Gaal this summer.
The Dutchman only took over in 2014 but has failed to land a major trophy and this season crashed out of the Champions League in the group stages.
And with Mourinho having been sacked by Chelsea shortly before Christmas, the Portuguese manager is immediately available should United get rid of Van Gaal.
"They missed Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti, while Mauricio Pochettino is staying put.
"Ronald Koeman would be an excellent choice but if they’re not pursuing him, you can see United sticking with Van Gaal, almost by default."
