Liverpool transfer shock: Chelsea hoping to nab top target for £35m
CHELSEA are reportedly hoping to trump Liverpool in the race to sign Mario Gotze.
Mario Gotze is on Liverpool's radar
The Reds have been long-term admirers of the Bayern Munich ace, with Jurgen Klopp knowing him well from their time spent together at Borussia Dortmund.
It is understood the World Cup winner could be signed for £20million.
But according to the Sun, Gotze has already been informed by incoming Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti that he won't be involved in his long-term plans.
And the west London outfit are ready to pounce.
It is thought Bayern, who signed Renato Sanches from Benfica earlier this week, will want £35m for Gotze.

Liverpool have already signed Joel Matip from Schalke ahead of the summer window.
Gotze is already thought to have kept in touch with Klopp, who has enjoyed a good first season in charge of the Anfield outfit.
They face West Brom on the final day of the Premier League season on Sunday (3pm) before travelling to Basel to take on Sevilla in the Europa League final on Wednesday.
