Jose Mourinho favourite: This is what Man Utd fans should really know about him
RICARDO CARVALHO has tried to debunk the myth that Jose Mourinho only manages clubs for three years before leaving.
Jose Mourinho has been continually talked up with a move to Manchester United
Mourinho has been widely tipped to succeed Louis van Gaal at Manchester United.
Carvalho spent seven seasons under Mourinho’s tutelage at Porto, Chelsea and Real Madrid respectively.
The Monaco centre-back has dismissed the idea that his former boss gets bored easily.
“That's what people say. I played seven years under him and I didn't get bored,” he told France Football.
“He first looks at the team and club needs. If you deserve to play.
“There's talk of a three-year cycle, but the truth is he's the same from start to finish. The pressure, the demands are always there.”
And Carvalho, who won the Premier League title with the Blues, has revealed what Mourinho’s man-management techniques are like.
Jose Mourinho - 5 things you need to know
He said: “Beyond all his titles, he's someone who tells you everything.
“For better or for worse. But he tells you to your face, and that, for me, is worth everything.
“He'll tell you it to improve you, not to make you feel bad in front of others. He's demanding, and that was important in my career.”
