Confirmed: West Ham beat Manchester United and Arsenal to midfield ace
WEST HAM have signed Domingos Quina.
The 16-year-old has been without a club since walking out on Chelsea last month due to fears he would not be given a chance to break into the first team.
However, it appears as if the Hammers have snapped the Portugal Under-17 international up after he posted a picture on Instagram, above, of him signing a contract.
West Ham have signed former Chelsea midfielder Domingos Quina
Arsenal appeared to be leading the race to sign Quina after reportedly closing in on a deal for him in March.
But West Ham have pipped their Premier League rivals to his signature after Slaven Bilic persuaded him to move to east London because he knew he would be given a chance.
Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham had also been chasing the youngster.
West Ham Club Fact File
Quina joined Chelsea as a 13-year-old from Benfica and had been a regular for the club's Under-18 side but had grown disillusioned by the lack of progress towards the first team.
He will be unable to sign a permanent contract until he turns 17 in November but could sign scholarship terms in the meantime.
He was on a similar deal at Stamford Bridge and as a result, Chelsea will not be due any compensation.
