Manchester United to weigh up shock swap deal with Inter Milan
MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly facing a swap offer from Inter Milan involving Miranda and Juan Mata.
Man Utd's Juan Mata and Inter's Miranda could head in opposite directions this summer
According to Italian outlet Tuttosport, ex-Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini would allow his centre-half to leave for Old Trafford if they could secure playmaker Mata in the process.
Inter apparently value 31-year-old Miranda at £15.8million, who has pleny of Champions League experience from his time at Atletico Madrid.
United are in the market for a central defender this summer and Miranda has been linked with a potential move.
However, Mancini would be opposed to a straight deal for the Brazil international as he's keen to keep him, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.
Jose Mourinho is reportedly a big part of the deal for Miranda though, as the manager who's been linked with the hot seat at Old Trafford is said to be a keen admirer.
Having previously sold Mata while at Chelsea too, a swap deal appears a possibility between the Premier league and Serie A giants.
Mata is hoping to secure his long-term future at United amid uncertainty surrounding his position at the club, according to the Daily Star.
United spent a hefty £37.1m on 27-year-old Mata back in January 2014 but may be tempted to strike a deal with Inter to land Miranda, whos is also now a reported target for Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
