The Italy manager is set to succeed Guus Hiddink in the summer after the European Championships.
A three-year contract is already believed to have been agreed between Conte and the west London outfit.
The Blues are expected to carry out a major overhaul of their squad in the summer, and Conte has already drawn up a list of potential targets which includes Roma's Radja Nainggolan and Bayern Munich star Arturo Vidal.
Conte, who has been earned a reputation for being a disciplinarian, admits he won't be afraid to wield the axe if players step out of line.
"I want players to have manners and respect," Conte said.
“They will get that from me, and I want it from them. I never trust a player who has no manners.”

Speaking more specifically about the kind of manager he is, Conte said: "I don’t believe in the idea that all that matters is taking part.
"I don’t do anything just for the sake of doing it. I am a perfectionist.”
