Man United transfer surprise: International star wanted at Old Trafford as club make move
MANCHESTER UNITED'S pursuit of goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has been boosted after reports emerged that Inter Milan have already sourced a replacement goalkeeper.
Samir Handanovic could reportedly join Manchester United this summer
United and rivals Manchester City are both claimed to be interested in Handanovic's signature.
The 31-year-old Slovenia international was a target of United's last summer as he delayed signing a new contract.
It is thought he was earmarked as a potential replacement for David De Gea, had the stopper transferred to Real Madrid.
According to the claims, City could also move for Handanovic and are willing to stump up around £15million to secure his services.
Incoming manager Pep Guardiola is reportedly unconvinced with Joe Hart's ability to play as a 'sweep-keeper'.
City were thought to have sounded out Manuel Neuer as a replacement for Hart, only for the Bayern Munich player to snub an advance.
Inter could sign Mattia Perin as a replacement for Handanovic
As for Handanovic, he will not play at Euro 2016 this summer after Slovenia lost 3-1 on aggregate to Ukraine in a two-legged qualification playoff last autumn.
He finally signed a new deal with Inter back in January after months of drawn-out negotiations over a wage increase.
