Exclusive: Incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will not be given final say on transfers
ANTONIO CONTE will not have total control of transfers when he takes over at Chelsea this summer.
Italy boss Antonio Conte is set to join Chelsea after Euro 2016
The Italian is expected to be announced as Chelsea's new coach in the coming weeks after the finals details are agreed on a three-year £4.75million-a-year deal.
As Express Sport has revealed, Conte, 46, who this week announced he would be leaving Italy after this summer's European Championships, wants to bring Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini with him as Director of Football at Stamford Bridge.
But like all other recent Chelsea managers, he will not have control over transfers when he eventually joins the club.
Technical Director Michael Emenalo - who has come in for criticism lately for the quality of recent signings and who could face being shunted aside if Sabatini arrives - and the club's football board will continue to recommend and have the final say on incomings and outgoings.
Conte will though be consulted on players being allowed to leave Chelsea this summer, including skipper John Terry, still to be offered a new contract.
