Manchester United and Chelsea on alert as £62m Real Madrid star issues demand
JAMES RODRIGUEZ has reportedly told Real Madrid to offer him an improved contract.
James Rodriguez's future at the Bernabeu is by no means certain
Rodriguez arrived in Madrid after a string of impressive performances for Colombia at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Shortly after the tournament, the winger confirmed he had signed a six-year contract with Los Blancos and was leaving Monaco after just one season in France.
But even with reports in Spain suggesting that Madrid are ready to sell the player, he is said to have asked the club to look at an improved contract.
However, his obvious talents on the ball are said to have kept his Premier League suitors interested despite his current struggles.
And while Madrid are said to be keen to sell, they do want to recoup as much of the £62million they paid for him in 2014.
