Harry Redknapp to become manager just days after taking up Derby position
HARRY REDKNAPP has agreed to manage the Jordan national team for two World Cup qualifiers this month - just days after being appointed as a mentor at Derby.
Harry Redknapp left QPR last season and has now returned to football
Redknapp, 69, was introduced to the Derby set-up on Monday and will work with manager Darren Wassall.
His first game with the Rams is Saturday's derby clash with Nottingham Forest.
"I'm friends with Prince Ali and wanted him to take over from Sepp Blatter.
"He asked me if I'd manage the team for a couple of matches and I agreed.
"I'll go to the Forest game and then go straight to London and fly to Jordan.
"It's a busy time but I've missed the buzz of being involved in football."
