Man Utd News: Rooney injury update, Aubameyang come-and-get-me plea, Mourinho criticism
EXPRESS SPORT brings you all the latest news from Old Trafford.
Wayne Rooney aims to be back soon
Wayne Rooney has given a reassuring update about his injury after fears he could miss the rest of the season with a knee ligament injury.
He said: “It is going as planned. It is going how we first thought. It is going well so hopefully it won't be too long now. I don't know for definite [a return date] but after the international break - obviously I will miss the England games. It shouldn't be too long after that.
“It is not too bad. We are being a bit cautious. It is a difficult one to try and push back. If I try and push and be involved now it could cause more damage. So we are being cautious. After the international break is a more realistic target.
“I am hoping if I am back when I am expected to be back, depending on the two cups we are still in, then there could be 10 games left for United plus the England [warm-up] games so I don’t think that [fitness for Euro 2016] would be a worry.”
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had made a come-and-get-me plea to Real Madrid, declaring he wants to play for the Spanish giants.
The 26-year-old has been linked with Manchester United, Arsenal, Paris Saint Germain and Madrid but says playing in Spain is his future ambition.
He told told beIN Sports: “Real Madrid? There is no agreement but I promised my grandfather I would play there one day. Why wouldn't I want to discover new things?
“As I've said several times, I'd like to play in Spain and have good weather for once in my life!”

Paul Ince believes talk of Jose Mourinho joining United has hindered their progress this season.
"It's not nice as a manager when [you hear] talk about other managers coming in," he said. "You've seen it with Manchester City and Pep Guardiola and City have been terrible, apart from beating [Aston] Villa.
"It does have an effect in players. 'Is the manager going to be here? Is he not going to be here?'.
"A this talk of Mourinho - we don't even know if it will be Mourinho, it could be Giggsy or anyone or Van Gaal [staying] - it's hard to say what change that could have as you would be changing the whole system again.
"[The new manager] will bring in new players and [the club] start again. Manchester United have always been about consistency and it would be important to keep Van Gaal now."
