Newcastle manager hunt: Former Premier League boss discusses replacing Steve McClaren
HARRY REDKNAPP insists he has had no contact with Newcastle about becoming their new manager.
Harry Redknapp says he has not been offered the Newcastle job
The former QPR and Tottenham boss has been linked with the job in recent days.
Current Newcastle head coach Steve McClaren is expected to be sacked after failing to reverse the club's fortunes.
Newcastle sit 19th in the Premier League with 10 games remaining, having spent £83million on players since last summer.
“I’ve worked with Steve (at QPR).
“He’s an excellent coach, manager, but he needs a result quickly. But I’ve never spoken to them.
“I was getting on the plane today from Southampton, and everybody thought I was heading to Newcastle. I was heading to Dublin.
“If something came along that was interesting, I would.
“Most of the offers I’m getting at the moment are from far off places in the world where I don’t feel like travelling to at the moment.”
