Chelsea defender emerges as surprise summer target for Barcelona
CHELSEA loanee Andreas Christensen is a summer target for Barcelona, according to reports.
Andreas Christensen is reportedly a target for Barcelona
Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim Barca are keen on the 19-year-old centre-back as they look to strengthen their back line over the summer.
The La Liga club's scouts have reportedly 'fallen in love' with the defender after watching him in action for Borussia Monchengladbach, where he is currently on a two-year loan deal.
Mundo Deportivo goes on to claim the teenager was a target for Barca during his days at Brondby, before he made the move to Stamford Bridge in 2012.
Since joining the Blues, Christensen has progressed through the academy ranks, winning the Uefa Youth League last year and making three first-team appearances under former boss Jose Mourinho.
Chelsea's team of the 90s
Mourinho sent the defender to Germany on a two-year loan deal last summer to give him more playing time and he has subsequently become a first-team regular for Gladbach.
The 19-year-old has since made 18 league appearances this term and has scored two goals, helping the German side to sixth in the Bundesliga table.
