He had Raheem Sterling in his pocket: Liverpool star praises team-mate
NATHANIEL CLYNE has praised fellow full-back Jon Flanagan for his comeback from injury - even if it does mean he has to switch flanks.
Flanagan and Clyne look to be Jurgen Klopp's first-choice full-back pairing
Flanagan started at right-back against Manchester City on Wednesday forcing Clyne to play on the left-hand side.
But the England international was delighted with how he coped with a return to first-team action having been out with injury for almost two years.
"He was quality," Clyne said.
Flanagan's inclusion saw regular left-back Alberto Moreno drop to the bench.
However, the Englishman is not registered for the Europa League which means that the Spaniard's first-team place is not under the threat it might have been.
