LIVERPOOL are set to end the uncertainty surrounding Jon Flanagan's future by handing him a new deal, according to reports.
Jon Flanagan is set to be handed a new deal by Liverpool
The 23-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has struggled for game time at Anfield due to a horrific knee injury that wiped out two years of his career.
However, despite a lack of first-team football over the last two seasons, the club are reportedly set to hand him a new deal.
Club captain Jordan Henderson has also urged the Reds to offer the former academy graduate a new contract, stressing his importance to the club as a home-grown player.
“It’s huge that it gets sorted out, I don’t think players and people like Flanno grow on trees, to be honest," Henderson said.
Liverpool's best partnerships
"You have people like him and Stevie and Carra who have come through the academy and the fans feel as though they are one of them really which they are.
“His whole family support Liverpool; he has been a Liverpool supporter since he was a kid and he has had a difficult time for the last year, two years, but what I have seen him do behind the scenes is incredible really. I know how hard he has been working."
