Exclusive: Steve McManaman reveals how Man City can beat Liverpool in the Capital One Cup
LIVERPOOL legend Steve McManaman believes Manchester City must wipe all memory of their defeat to Jurgen Klopp’s side at the Etihad earlier in the season.

The Reds thrashed City 4-1 away from home with Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho both scoring and wreaking havoc on Manuel Pellegrini’s defence.
Klopp did not name a recognised striker in his starting line-up that day and City’s centre-back pairing of Martin Demichelis and Eliaquim Mangala were unable to cope with the fluidity of Liverpool’s attack.
And even though Vincent Kompany will likely partner Nicolas Otamendi on Sunday, McManaman wondered if the Manchester side will struggle to forget the defeat handed to them last November.
But even so, McManaman admitted he was struggling to decide which captain he thinks will lift the trophy on Sunday.
“Both teams are very inconsistent at the minute and there’s no real outright favourites,” McManaman added.
“Both have come off the back of decent European results but actually it’s a toss of the coin.
“I’m leaning towards Liverpool winning because they need it more.
“Manchester City are in the Premier League title race and they're still in the Champions League of course.”
