Jose Mourinho demands decision over Man Utd job before the summer
JOSE MOURINHO reportedly wants to know whether the Manchester United job will be his before the end of the season.
Jose Mourinho doesn't want to hang around too
Reports suggest Mourinho has a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ in place to succeed Louis van Gaal, although he is yet to formally sign a pre-contract deal.
Van Gaal’s position at Old Trafford has become increasingly precarious, especially after the humiliating 2-1 defeat to FC Midtjylland last Thursday.
Though Ed Woodward is thought to be reluctant to let Van Gaal go, as he appointed him, Mourinho wants to know where he stands.
The Guardian claim Mourinho is prepared to wait until the end of the season, but doesn’t want to be left in ‘limbo’ over the summer.
It is thought he is mindful of the situation, but he isn’t prepared to wait indefinitely to be approached over the position.
Jose Mourinho's downfall
The report also indicates the Portuguese tactician could pursue other options if he doesn’t know what the deal is come May.
Mourinho has been out of work since December when he was sacked by Chelsea.
