Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: What we're doing to turn our season around
JURGEN KLOPP has revealed that there will not be much resting at Liverpool this weekend despite the fixture lull.
Klopp will have most of his players in for training sessions despite the opportunity for rest
Having been dumped out of the FA Cup by West Ham in the fourth round the Reds are without a game, allowing them a full week to recover from their 0-0 draw with Augsburg.
But when Liverpool return for the second leg on Thursday they will then have to jump back into action with a Capital One Cup final against Manchester City just three days later.
And despite the rare opportunity for time off, Klopp has revealed that plenty of players and coaches will still be training at full throttle.
And now he is thankful for the chance to work with his players for a number of days without a game to prepare for.
“To have two days off is important,” Klopp added.
“But we have a lot of players and they have to train, because they were not always available and had a few things to do to be in their best shape, especially a week before the cup final.
“Only a few players will have two days off, a few other players will have one day off – training and very important sessions.”
