Michael Carrick was critical of United's performance
The Danish side stunned United, coming from behind to earn a lead to take into the second leg next week.
Carrick captained the team in the absence of the injured Wayne Rooney and he gave an honest appraisal of United's failings.
He said: "It’s not good enough the performance and the result was nowhere near good enough.
"We caused a lot of our own problems, we scored a good goal but it just was not good enough.
"The only positive we can’t take is that we have another chance to go through but we’ve given ourselves a tougher job."
