Newcastle signing reveals dressing-room attitude before Chelsea defeat
ANDROS TOWNSEND claims there is no fear in the Newcastle dressing room despite the team’s position in the Premier League table.
Townsend claims the Newcastle squad are confident of pulling themselves out of the relegation zone
A 5-1 defeat to Chelsea saw them sink below Norwich back into the relegation zone, having now conceded 31 goals away from home this season.
But Townsend, who joined for £12million from Tottenham in January, has revealed that they arrived at Stamford Bridge in confident mood.
“It’s nothing in the dressing room, the lads are not coming here scared,” Townsend told the BBC.
“I’m looking forward to that, with two sessions a day and plenty of organisation and fitness work.
“It’ll help us get ready for the last 12 games.”
