Arsenal and Chelsea thwarted with star set to sign new deal
DIMITRI PAYET is on the verge of signing a new five-year deal with West Ham, according to reports.
Payet could have a whole host of Premier League clubs queuing for his signature
The 28-year-old joined West Ham last summer for more than £10million and has been one of the signings of the season.
The attacking midfielder who spent last season at Marseille has racked up six goals and four assists despite missing eight games through injury.
And when reports emerged claiming he had demanded wages of £125,000 per week, The Sun claimed Arsenal and Chelsea were both interested in developments.
However, West Ham are now sixth in the Premier League and are moving into the Olympic Stadium next season.
And with the Hammers expanding and Payet likely to become the highest-paid player at the club, he may deem it better to stick rather than twist when summer transfer window comes around.
