Man Utd handed boost with key defender set for return to action
PHIL JONES will make his comeback from injury for Manchester United's Under-21s on Monday night, according to reports.
Phil Jones has been out of action since the beginning of January
The England defender has struggled with a number of injuries this season and has made only eight starts.
He has been out of action since the win over Swansea at the start of January after suffering a recurrence of an ankle injury.
Jones has been back in full training since last week and talkSPORT claim he will now step up his rehabilitation by featuring for the Under-21s against Norwich at Old Trafford tonight.
The news will be a huge boost to Louis van Gaal, who is currently without a number of key defenders.
Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo, Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young are all currently out injured, meaning youngsters including Cameron Borthwick-Jackson have had to step up to the starting XI.
Adnan Januzaj, who returned to the club from a loan-spell at Borussia Dortmund last month, is also expected to start for Warren Joyce's side.
