Revealed: Why Swansea and Leicester rejected this shock transfer agreement
SWANSEA and Leicester were reportedly offered the chance to sign Robinho in the final days of the transfer window - but his wage demands were too high.
Robinho is a free agent but still commands a large wage
Robinho, 32, is a free agent after having his contract with Chinese champions Guangzhou Evergrande ended.
The former Manchester City striker is said to be keen on a move back to the Premier League.
The Daily Mail claimed both the Swans and Foxes were contacted over a possible move.
Swansea, battling relegation, are unlikely to significantly increase their wage bill in case they end up in the Championship.
And Leicester, while riding high in the table, are unwilling to break their wage structure as manager Claudio Ranieri remains grounded amid the possibility of a title shot this spring.
Swansea signed just two players during the winter transfer window, with £8million Alberto Paloschi arriving from Chievo and QPR's Leroy Fer coming in on loan.
They cashed in on Jonjo Shelvey's £12m departure to Newcastle and also sent Gerhard Tremmel on loan to Werder Bremen.

Leicester, meanwhile, added Daniel Amartey and Demarai Gray from FC Copenhagen and Birmingham respectively in a combined £8m outlay, with Zoumana Bakayogo, Alie Sesay and Harry Panayiotou, Andrej Kramaric and Tom Lawrence all offloaded.
As for Robinho, the former Brazil international's representatives have also reportedly contacted Juventus over a free transfer this spring.
